Most of the hunting community is focused on big game hunting. Its time to look towards small game hunting to bring more people to hunting. I have had the opportunity lately to talk to a lot of the older generation of hunters. They have reminisced about when they where a little younger and the joy of small game hunting. Most conversation have started due to hunting dogs. Flooding back memories for them of time spent behind dogs. They all talk about how small game was some of there fondest times hunting.
     The reason hunting small game can bring new hunters to the fields and Forrest is the dogs and the community of the hunters. When you get involved with hunting dogs the resources can be endless and new hunter friendly. There are groups for beagles, pointing dogs, flushing dogs, and retrievers. Dog clubs are a good place to start if you have a passion for dogs but not sure what you would like to be involved in. There are aways friendly people willing to show the ropes and maybe…
